Solutions for clubs & associations
Real books for your club —
and no line item.
Non-profits, charities, sports leagues, and member associations run LineLedger at no cost — because it’s free software, not a discount you have to apply for. Fund accounting, donation receipts, and the T3010, built in.
Free software, AGPLv3. Nothing to sign up for.
Built for the way you work
Seven things LineLedger does for you out of the box — and the rest of the product is on too.
Free software, not a free tier
Nothing to apply for, no exemption to be granted, no status to re-qualify for each year. LineLedger is AGPLv3 — the whole product, at no cost, to everyone.
Fund accounting & ASNPO statements
Net-asset subtypes, restricted funds with interfund transfers, and statements of operations and changes in net assets your AGM will accept.
Donation receipts that feed the T3010
Issue donation receipts and watch them flow into the registered-charity return — with the filing profile derived from your org type.
Member dues & recurring invoices
Bill dues on a schedule, take online payments through the member portal, and see who's outstanding at a glance.
Volunteer-safe access control
Passkeys, two-factor sign-in, and per-member section access — the treasurer, the bookkeeper, and the board each see exactly what they should.
Budgets the treasurer can defend
Budget vs. actual by account, with drill-through reports behind every number when the board asks where it went.
Handover-proof backups
Export the whole set of books to a portable ZIP and restore it anywhere — so a change of treasurer never means starting over.
Common questions
- Is it really free for clubs?
- Yes — and not just for clubs. LineLedger is free software under the GNU AGPLv3, so there is no non-profit tier to qualify for, no paperwork, and no annual re-check of your status. Sports leagues, hobby clubs, makerspaces, condo boards, HOAs, PACs, registered charities: the same free software.
- Do we need charitable or 501(c)(3) status to qualify?
- There is nothing to qualify for. The software is free to everyone under the AGPLv3 — your tax status changes how the books are shaped, not what they cost.
- We're a registered charity. Does LineLedger handle the T3010?
- Yes — the T3010 registered-charity return is built in, fed by your donation receipts and fund accounting, with the filing profile derived from your organization type.
- What happens when our treasurer changes?
- Hand over a login, not a shoebox. Per-member roles transfer access cleanly, the audit log shows who changed what, and a portable ZIP backup means the books survive any transition.
- Who runs the server?
- You do — or a volunteer, or whoever hosts your website. LineLedger installs on a small VPS for a few dollars a month, and that cost is between you and your host. We charge nothing and we never see your books.
